Environment / Composting
Recycling organic waste from the hotels’ extensive gardens (cuttings, clippings, debris) and the five hotel kitchens (shavings, scrapings, leftovers) has been addressed with the creation of a large composting unit that utilizes earthworms and moisture to achieve accelerated breakdown of organic matter into nutrients dissolved in the effluent water, subsequently used as a liquid fertilizer. The facility is fully available to the public for viewing, so do ask us for a tour.
